Situated on the third floor of an 18th-century palace, La Fiermontina Vendôme is a magnificent two-hundred-square-metre apartment home to French-style hospitality and luxury services delivered by five-star staff. It is a truly unique place: as you step through the entrance, you are transported into the owner's artistic universe, where architecture, art and design are the main features of each of the rooms. The décor allows visitors to feel the passion for beauty that united René Letourneur with the Rothschilds, the banking dynasty with whom he was good friends.
With the help of French interior designers Charles-Philippe and Christophe of Laboratoire Design, Fouad Giacomo-Filali has furnished La Fiermontina Vendôme in a modern style that respects French tradition while incorporating rare pieces from his own collection. Amidst the refined 18th-century frames and parquet floors of Versailles, you will find some extraordinary pieces of art from the family collection.
In the foyer, sculptures by Letourneur and Jacques Zwobada sit beside a pair by Gaston Chaissac. The living room boasts a marble fireplace, gold-leaf decoration and features pieces by Modigliani, Francis Bacon and Fernand Léger.
The airy rooms, with their light grey and white walls, boast contemporary furniture of minimal design, harmoniously coexisting with antiques: a Gio Ponti table and a Knoll sofa next to gigantic Chinese urns and an Empire desk. The large, bright and elegant lounge has four large windows that overlook the imposing Place Vendôme. It is a quiet and comfortable space to read, work, converse and relax.
