FRANCAVILLA FONTANA | Baroque Becomes Emotion

There is an invisible thread that runs through the centuries, uniting creativity, light, and vision. In Francavilla Fontana, it takes shape in the major exhibition “Baroque and Neobaroque from Rubens to Fontana,” hosted at Castello Imperiali until July 31. An intense experience that transforms art into a living narrative.

Among the standout works is the famous self-portrait of Gian Lorenzo Bernini, a timeless icon that welcomes visitors into a journey capable of weaving together past and present. Over sixty masterpieces tell the story of the power of the Baroque, from Rubens to Van Dyck, from Guido Reni to Pietro da Cortona, engaging in dialogue with the modern visions of De Chirico, Fontana, and the tensions of contemporary art.

Castello Imperiali thus becomes an immersive stage, where light and matter guide a sensory journey inspired by the concept of “The Neobaroque Age.” Six movements, like in a musical score, lead the viewer through emotions, contrasts, and wonder. It is not just an exhibition: it is a passage through time, an encounter between distant eras that continue to speak to one another.
