Lecce transforms into a stage of hidden wonders for the event 'Open Courtyards', on Sunday, May 26th. Secret gardens, majestic atriums, historic chapels, and cloisters, usually inaccessible, open their doors to the public, thanks to the Association of Italian Historic Houses - Puglia Section and the support of the Municipality of Lecce. From 10:30 am to 1:30 pm and from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm, La Fiermontina Palazzo Bozzi Corso, built in 1775, opens its ancient gate at 38 Umberto I Street to reveal a world of history and art. Just steps away from the Basilica of Santa Croce, you will be welcomed into the enchanting atrium, where students from the Classical and Musical High School Palmieri will fill the air with enchanting melodies: the Palmieri Big Band directed by Prof. Giovanni Epifani in the morning and various chamber groups in the afternoon, assisted by Prof. Manieri, offer a beautiful musical experience. A few steps away, at 4 Vicolo dei Raynò, the Fiermonte Museum awaits you with an immersive journey into 20th-century art. The works of René Letourneur, Jacques Zwobada, and Antonia Fiermonte tell stories of passion and creativity. In the museum's garden, there will be a sculpture workshop: the young Giacomo Rollo transforms stone into art before your eyes, and you can participate in the excitement of artistic creation, using various tools and materials, under his guidance. Lecce will enchant you on a special day celebrating hidden beauty.
