From 27 December to 6 January, Lecce lights up with wonder, laughter and imagination for the twelfth edition of Kids – Festival of Theatre and Arts for New Generations.
More than thirty shows and over one hundred performances transform theatres, squares, historic spaces and unexpected venues across the city into a great shared story, designed for toddlers, children, teenagers and curious adults alike.
Theatre, dance, circus, storytelling and contemporary languages intertwine in a city-wide programme welcoming companies from Puglia, across Italy and from Europe, bringing to Lecce poetic visions, immersive experiences and stories that speak straight to the heart. This year’s theme, “A tutta voce” (At full voice), invites us to listen to childhood, to give it space and a voice in a world that too often moves too fast.
Alongside the performances, the lively Kids Village offers meetings, workshops and free performances; the suspended ticket of Operation Robin Hood returns, together with a special workshop for young critics, who learn how to tell the stories they see. Not to be missed are the tales staged aboard historic trains and the colourful opening parade that floods the city streets.
Conceived and directed by Factory Compagnia Transadriatica and Principio Attivo Teatro, Kids is a collective invitation to grow together, guided by the power of storytelling.
