FIERMONTE MUSEUM | Stories, Sounds and Visions between East and West

On Sunday, December 21, the Fiermonte Museum becomes a living space of crossings and encounters, weaving together memory and the present, thought and sound.
In the morning, from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm, the story of Alaturka / Alafranga. Cultural Interactions between Turkey and Mediterranean Europe takes shape. Published by Marietti1820 and edited by Rosita D’Amora and Stefania De Nardis, with a presentation by Andrea Riccardi, the volume explores five centuries of exchanges between Italy and Turkey as a mosaic of voices and visions: the Mediterranean emerges not as a border, but as a shared home. Through literature, the arts and moving identities, unexpected connections surface—from Ignazio Silone to the Istanbul of Orhan Pamuk—through writing, images and gestures that tell a story of shared belonging. During the meeting, the editors and Nicola Verderame will be in conversation with Raffaele Gorgoni and Fabio Pollice.

In the evening, from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm, this same energy is transformed into sound: the seventh FIER-Day hosts a DJ set by Dubin, with a dub ambient creation conceived especially for the museum. A free, immersive experience to listen to how different cultures continue to resonate together.
