The suspended art of Driant Zeneli

There is a kind of falling that does not frighten, but opens up visions.

From 19 December, the Complesso di San Francesco della Scarpa in Lecce hosts Falling, an exhibition by visual artist Driant Zeneli: a poetic and political journey where losing balance becomes a way to imagine new beginnings.

Curated by Laura Lamonea and promoted by the Polo Biblio-Museale di Lecce and the Museo Castromediano, the exhibition unfolds through videos and installations that explore the fragile moment in which bodies, systems and institutions waver, making room for unexpected possibilities.

At the heart of the exhibition lies the film When winds in monsoon play, the white peacock will sweep away: set in Bangladesh, it follows the symbolic journey of a white peacock through architectures, uprisings and ancient proverbs, in a tale of magical realism supported by a soundtrack that weaves together Baroque music and Bengali tradition. Surrounding it are fables for adults, impossible utopias and a living laboratory that transforms fragments and ruins into new creative matter.

Open until 7 January (free admission), Falling invites visitors to inhabit the fall not as an ending, but as a passage: a suspended space where imagination becomes a force for reading the present and reinventing it.
