Easter: Harmonies of Faith, Art, and Tradition

In the baroque heart of Lecce, Easter 2025 becomes a collective embrace of music, spirituality, and cherished tradition.

On April 13, the majestic Basilica of Santa Croce opens the Festival Organistico del Salento with a moving organ and ensemble concert by the “Tito Schipa” Conservatory.

The same sacred space welcomes, on April 15, the Oles Symphony Orchestra and the choir of the Palmieri Music High School in the Easter Concert dedicated to the theme of Resurrection.

On April 14, in the Church of Sant’Irene, “Sacred Harmonies” weave together iconic sacred pieces and the vibrant voices of the Salento region.

On April 16, the Church of the Augustinians transforms into a stage with Mater Dolorosa by Tonino Papadia, a poignant performance evoking the figure of Mary through ancient chants and lauds.

From April 16 to 20, the Church of La Nova becomes a sanctuary of tradition, hosting a photographic exhibition, musical events, and workshops on ancient Salento crafts.

From April 17 to 27, the Basilica of San Giovanni Battista al Rosario unveils the first-ever Easter Nativity Exhibition, featuring sacred scenes and captivating dioramas.

On April 21, Galateo Park bursts with life during “B in the Park,” a creative celebration of young talent with live music, performances, and open-air activities.

Finally, on April 22, the beloved Lu Riu tradition leads locals into the countryside for a festive picnic, echoing an ancient devotion to Our Lady of Loreto. This is Easter in Lecce—a celebration where beauty, emotion, and roots unite the soul of a city.
