A step forward for the future of many young Moroccans. On June 26, the Larache Vocational Training Center was inaugurated, the result of a collaboration between the Fondation Orient-Occident, La Fiermontina Ocean, and other partners. Located in the heart of Larache, the center offers free training in hospitality and restaurant trades – from cooking and pastry courses to reception, table service, and room cleaning – and is open to young people from the most disadvantaged rural villages in the area, with special attention to the inclusion of girls.
A shared dream, brought to life thanks to the strength of the community: many students enrolled after hearing word-of-mouth stories from workers already employed at La Fiermontina Ocean, inspired by the opportunity to learn a trade and improve their lives.
The center also serves as a laboratory for social innovation, through the introduction of the Poverty Stoplight tool, which guides each participant on a path of awareness and personal autonomy. With the promise of quality training, real job opportunities, and strong impact on the region, the Larache Center stands as a replicable model of sustainable human development. For the youth of Larache, a new chapter begins.
